Saints Baseball Picks Up First Win of Season in Extra Innings

Kansas City, MO –  The Presentation College Saints picked up their first win of the season in a game that went to extra innings. They defeated Avila University by a score of 5-3. The win improves the Saints’ record to 1-2.

For the second straight game, the Saints grabbed an early lead on a lead off homerun, this time by Ethan Leech (Junior / Casper, WY). The score would remain 1-0 until the fifth inning when Avila would score two.

The Saints would respond with two runs of their own in the sixth. The first came off of a Phillip Jourdan (Sophomore / Papillion, NE) sacrifice fly, giving him his first career RBI. The next batter was Tyus Stanley (Junior / Federal Way, WA), and he singled to left field to give the Saints a 3-2 lead. The Eagles would tie the game up in the bottom half of the inning.
