Texas A&M and TCU have had some wild post-season baseball matchups, and Sunday nights Regional final was no different.
A&M fielding issues were the story in the early innings, as three Aggie errors helped the Horned Frogs take a 3-0 lead after 4 innings.
The Aggies finally got on the board themselves after two walks and a Ryan Targac single pushed Dylan Rock across the plate, and Austin Bost scored on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 3-2 after 6.
And that’s when things got weird.
It was the 7th inning where the A&M bats really woke up, as they put together 5 hits in the inning, including a 3-run bomb by Rock, and went to the 8th inning up 7-3.
But the lead didn’t last long, as TCU answered with 4 runs of their own, with Brayden Taylor delivering the big blow, a 3-run home run that tied the game at 7.
A&M took the lead again in the top of the 8th, before TCU took it back again in bottom half on a two-run Tommy Sacco homerun.
But the A&M bats that have been so clutch so many times this season, struck again in the top of the 9th. The names are familiar by now, Austin Bost, Ryan Targac and Troy Claunch got the inning started, and by the time Dylan Rock hammered a two-run double to right-center field, and Bost knocked him in on his second hit of the inning, the Aggies had a 15-9 lead.
Brad Rudis was able to record the final three outs, and the Aggies are on to the Super Regionals!
