Beat the Streak is back for the 2022 season — and the $5.6 million prize is still up for grabs.
The idea is simple — pick one player (or two) every day who you think will get a hit. The objective — surpass Joe DiMaggio’s record-long 56-game hitting streak — is a bit more challenging.

Yordan Alvarez, Astros (vs. Mariners)
Alvarez hit .565 last week with five multi-hit games and four home runs, and entering play Tuesday, the lefty slugger had a 65.5% hard-hit rate and a .365 expected batting average for the season. Mariners righty Chris Flexen has allowed 36 hits in 26 1/3 innings over his past five starts, and Alvarez is 4-for-10 with two homers lifetime against him.
Mike Yastrzemski, Giants (vs. Rockies)
Yastrzemski has a 92.3 mph average exit velocity and 45.0% hard-hit rate since the start of May. Rockies righty Germán Márquez continues to struggle, with a 6.71 ERA and 71 hits allowed to 46 strikeouts in 55 innings this season. Yastrzemski is a .308 hitter against him with a home run and two doubles in 14 plate appearances.
Willson Contreras, Cubs (vs. Orioles)
Contreras has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games (batting .333) and has a 94.5 mph average exit velocity over that span, with his 17 hard-hit balls ranking in the top 10 in baseball. Orioles starter Kyle Bradish is allowing 10.9 hits per nine innings this season.
