Kernels Add Jake Rucker – OurSports Central

Multi-Hit Games Fuel Friday Kernels' Win

Cedar Rapids, IA – Infielder Jake Rucker has been promoted to the Cedar Rapids Kernels from Class A Fort Myers. With the addition of Rucker, the Kernels active roster stands at 27 players.

Through 60 games with the Mighty Mussels this season, Rucker has slashed .225/.338/.330 for a .668 OPS with 37 runs scored, nine doubles, four triples, two homers and 17 RBI. The corner infielder has stolen 13 bases while drawing walks at a 12.7% clip. Rucker was selected in the seventh round of the 2021 MLB Amateur Draft by the Minnesota Twins out of the University of Tennessee where he earned Third Team All-American honors as a junior. He and current Kernels outfielder Alerick Soularie were teammates at Tennessee in 2019 and 2020.
