KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee baseball team was recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association with the 2021-22 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack, on Wednesday.
Nearly 700 teams from every level of high school and college baseball were presented with the award, which rewards programs coached by current ABCA members that posted a team GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2021-22 academic year.
The Vols posted an impressive 3.32 team GPA for the 2021-22 academic year while also excelling on the field, winning a program record 57 games and securing the SEC regular season and tournament titles for the first time since 1995.
This marks the second straight year that UT has earned the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. To view the complete list of recipients, click HERE.
