Hartford, Connecticut – The Somerset Patriots (81-48) won their fifth straight game vs. the Hartford Yard Goats (72-58) by a score of 8-6 on Saturday night, powered by a pair of two-home run games from both Brandon Lockridge and Andres Chaparro.

Lockridge (13) and Chaparro (16) became the fifth and sixth Patriots to accomplish the feat this year, joining Mickey Gasper, Max Burt, Everson Pereira and Blake Perkins (who did it three times including in Hartford).

Somerset took the game’s initial lead as part of a four-run third inning that started with a two-run double for Austin Wells. The inning was capped with the first of Andres Chaparro’s two two-run home runs.

Brandon Lockridge led off the fourth inning with the first of his two homers to give the Patriots a game-high 5-0 lead.

Hartford chipped away at Somerset’s lead, scoring in three straight innings and getting to within one run by the end of the sixth inning.

Chaparro’s second two-run home run brought home the game’s decisive runs in the fifth inning, putting the Patriots up 7-5.

The Patriots scored their final run in the eighth inning on Lockridge’s second solo homer of the night, capping the game’s scoring at 8-6.
