Tigers’ 2022 recruiting class ranks No. 1

For the second year in a row, coach Jay Johnson and the LSU Tigers have signed the No. 1 recruiting class. Although the Tigers lost a few of their commitments to the 2022 MLB Draft, there is still a very talented group of freshmen that will be on the field for LSU this spring.

LSU boasts six recruits that are listed by Baseball America as top 500 draft prospects. Jaden Noot (No. 71), Brady Neal (No. 83), Chase Shores (No. 93), Jared Jones (No. 215), Aiden Moffett (No. 495) and Ethan Frey (No. 499).

Last season, LSU went 40-22 overall and 17-13 in conference play. Their season ended with a loss to Southern Miss in the Hattiesburg Regional.

LSU lost a lot of talented guys from that team last year (to the MLB Draft and the transfer portal) but with this type of recruiting class, it will be a fun Spring at the Box.
