Duke Releases 2023 Spring Slate

DURHAM – Head coach Chris Pollard and the Duke baseball program announced their 2023 spring schedule, marking Pollard’s 11th season in Durham.

The Blue Devils once again feature a strong slate of opponents for 2023, including 11 2022 NCAA Tournament participants in Liberty, East Carolina, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Campbell, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Miami. Of those 11 teams, five were regional site hosts and three advanced to the Super Regionals last season. The Blue Devils will play 27 games this season against teams that appeared in the NCAA tournament last season.

“Year in and year out, Duke baseball plays one of the most aggressive schedules in the country,” Pollard said. “This year will be no different. The ACC continues to be the premier conference in all of college baseball, and we are blessed to have so many NCAA regional caliber non-conference opponents right here in our own backyard. Our goal every year in putting together the schedule is to build it in such a way that if we take care of business in and out of the league, we will have amassed a strong resume for post-season consideration.”

Duke opens the spring at home against St. Joseph’s (Feb. 17-19), as the Blue Devils begin the 2023 season with 17-straight home games. The Blue Devils will host the Baylor Bears (Feb. 24-26) for the return trip, after Duke went to Waco, Texas in 2022. The non-conference slate concludes at home with Princeton traveling to Durham (Mar. 3-5).

In conference play, the Blue Devils will host Wake Forest (Mar. 10-12), Pitt (Mar. 31-Apr. 2), Virginia Tech (Apr. 7-9), Louisville (Apr. 21-23) and Georgia Tech (May 12-14).

Duke will travel to Clemson (Mar. 17-19), North Carolina (Mar. 24-26), Boston College (Apr. 14-16), Virginia (Apr. 28-30) and Miami (May 18-20).

In non-conference action, Duke hosts matchups against Liberty (Feb. 21), East Carolina (Feb. 28), Appalachian State (Mar. 7), Northeastern (Mar. 8), Towson (Mar. 21), Gardner-Webb (Mar. 22), Campbell (Apr. 4), Davidson (Apr. 11), William & Mary (Apr. 18), Longwood (May 7), Rider (May 9-10) and High Point (May 16).

The Blue Devil’s non-conference road schedule sends the squad to Presbyterian for a neutral site game at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. (Mar. 15). The Blue Devils will also head to Liberty (Mar….
