Aubrey Leach Heads To Guatemala With U.S. National Team

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Former Tennessee standout and two-time NFCA All-American Aubrey Leach will make her USA Softball Women’s National Team debut this weekend, traveling to Guatemala City, Guatemala, to compete in the 2022 Pan American Championship.

The 26-year-old infielder from The Woodlands, Texas, is one of 13 former NCAA Division I student-athletes on the 15-player roster and one of five former collegiate players from the Southeastern Conference.

Team USA will take the field against teams from across the Americas Nov. 12-19 in hopes to qualify for the 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) World Cup. More information on the event can be found at TeamUSA.org.

Leach was named to the national team roster last month after a phenomenal campaign competing in the Athletes Unlimited professional softball league this past summer. In 15 games, she logged 18 hits with a .383 batting average, 14 runs scored, four RBIs and four stolen bases.

A standout on the diamond for UT from 2016-19, Leach finished her college career as the program’s all-time leader in runs (255) and walks (164) while ranking second in program history in career on-base percentage (.503). She was a two-time NFCA All-America selection, earning first team honors as a junior in 2018 and third team accolades as a senior in 2019.

Leach currently serves as a graduate assistant for the Tennessee softball program while attending the University of Tennessee College of Law. A five-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, she completed her bachelors in political science in May of 2020.
