Cordero was acquired as part of the 2021 three-team trade that sent outfielder Andrew Benintendi to the Kansas City Royals. In two seasons with Boston, Cordero slashed .209/.279/.350 with nine homers and 38 RBI in 132 games.

The Red Sox will tender contracts to relievers Ryan Brasier and Josh Taylor, according to MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo and The Boston Globe’s Alex Speier. The MLB non-tender deadline is 8 p.m. ET.
