Mets, MLB community react to Jacob deGrom signing with Texas Rangers

Jacob deGrom was once the Mets’ ace in the hole.

Now that he’s gone – signing a five-year deal with the Texas Rangers for a reported $185 million –  all that’s left is the hole in the hearts of fans all across New York and a hole in the rotation that the front office will be moving to fill quickly.

“I wish him well,” Mets owner Steve Cohen told SNY on Friday night. “He has the right to choose his team. Now this team has to move on to the next thing.”
