SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse softball and head coach Shannon Doepking kick off the 2023 season with a slew of non-conference tournaments in Jacksonville, Raleigh, Charleston and Riverside. The 2023 campaign begins on Feb. 10-Feb. 12 at the River City Leadoff in Jacksonville. The Orange will take on IUPUI, North Florida and Jacksonville University.
Following the stop in Jacksonville, the Orange travel to the campus of NC State for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Purdue and Iowa await Syracuse in Raleigh on Feb. 17-Feb. 19.
Syracuse stays in the Carolinas for the Lowcountry Classic in Charleston, S.C. from Feb. 24-26. ‘Cuse will face Charleston, Robert Morris and Rutgers.
The non-conference tournament schedule is then paused on Mar. 3-5 for the start of Atlantic Coast Conference play. Conference action begins with a three-game series at Clemson.
The Orange wrap up the tournament slate with contests against Harvard, UC San Diego and California Baptist at the Lance Up Invite in Riverside, California. The tournament begins on Mar. 10 and concludes on Mar. 12. Syracuse will also make a stop in Los Angeles for a single game against 2022 NCAA Women’s College World Series participant UCLA on Tuesday, Mar. 14.
ACC conference play resumes with a trip to Florida State from Mar. 17-19. Syracuse will then head to Canisius on Mar. 22 before a trip to Notre Dame (Mar. 24-26).
The first home series of the 2023 season will be a three-game stretch against Louisville, starting on Friday, Mar. 31 and concluding on Sunday, Apr. 2. The Orange will then host NC State on Apr. 6-8 before traveling to UAlbany on Apr. 12 for a doubleheader.
Syracuse hits the road for another ACC series against North Carolina (Apr. 14-16). The visit to Chapel Hill is followed by trips to Binghamton (Apr. 19) and Cornell (Apr. 26) for midweek doubleheaders.
The 2023 regular season wraps up with a seven-game homestand. Syracuse hosts Virginia (Apr. 28-30), Colgate (May 5) before concluding the regular season with a series against Boston College (May 5-7).
The 2023 ACC Tournament is hosted by Notre Dame, taking place from May 10-13 in South Bend, IN.
The Orange face five programs that advanced to the 2022 NCAA Softball Championship, including Clemson, Canisius, Florida State, Notre Dame and UCLA.
