Tide defeat Richmond in season opener

The Alabama baseball program defeated Richmond 12-3 in its 2023 season opener.

Alabama was led offensively by Florida transfer Mac Guscette. Guscette helped drive across four runs in his debut with the Crimson Tide. He hit a three-run home run in the third inning. In the fifth inning, he delivered with a two-run double to make the score 11-1.

Another player that shined was right fielder Andrew Pinckney. The redshirt junior went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and one run batted in.

On the mound, junior left-handed pitcher Grayson Hitt pitched a gem. He finished with five innings pitched while allowing just one earned run on one hit.

Overall, the Crimson Tide looked impressive in their season debut. Alabama moves to 1-0 on the season while the Spiders fall to 0-1. The first pitch for tomorrow’s Game 2 is scheduled for 2 CT. The game will be airing on SEC Network+.
