No. 5 Softball Set to Host Dugout Club Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 5 Florida State softball team (15-3) will play five games in three days as they host the Dugout Club Classic at JoAnne Graf Field on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Seminoles will be hosting Colgate (6-7), Georgia Southern (7-8), and UMass (3-6).

The Seminoles will take on UMass at 2:30 on Friday followed by a matchup with Colgate at 4:45 p.m. Saturday will see the Seminoles take on Georgia Southern at 12:15 p.m. and Colgate at 2:30 p.m. The Seminoles will end the weekend against Georgia Southern on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. All games can be seen live on ACCNX.

The Seminoles are coming off a perfect 6-0 week as they defeated North Florida and went 5-0 at the Unconquered Invitational last weekend. The Seminoles are led by Katie Dack who is hitting a team-high .432 on the season which is third in the ACC. Dack also leads the team with five home runs. The Noles have a plethora of hitters who are currently on multi-game hitting streaks. Kaley Mudge leads the way with a 12-game hitting streak while Jahni Kerr has recorded a hit in her last eight games. Hallie Wacaser and Kalei Harding each have hitting streaks of five games.

The Noles have been terrific in the circle this season with a team ERA of 1.96. Kathryn Sandercock has led the way for the Noles with 11 appearances and a 1.55 ERA. Sandercock is tied for the fourth-lowest ERA in the NCAA among pitchers who have made 11 or more appearances. Allison Royalty and Makenna Reid have a combined record of 9-0 for the Seminoles. Reid holds a 1.47 ERA and leads the team with 34 strikeouts while Royalty holds a 2.24 ERA with 26 strikeouts.
