Bonstrom Hauls In Pac-12 Player of the Week Award

SAN FRANCISCO – After helping the University of Utah softball team post a 5-0 record last week and get off to a 3-0 start in conference play, Ellessa Bonstrom was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week on Monday.

Bonstrom started all five games for the Utes during the previous week and hit .500, blasted three homers, drove in eight runs, scored seven times and posted a 1.286 slugging percentage.

Bonstrom drove in at least one run in all five of Utah’s victories  and got started by belting a two-run homer against Niagara and a solo shot against Hawaii on Monday. She knocked in two more runs in the Utes’ series opening triumph over Oregon State on Friday, then added three more hits, including another long ball on Saturday. Her final hit of the week was a walk-off two-run double that secured Utah’s series sweep over the Beavers on Sunday.
