Notre Dame baseball brings bats Sunday, loses series at Georgia Tech

Notre Dame Baseball coach Shawn Stiffler mic’d up at practice

It was a tough weekend for Notre Dame baseball, but they were able to salvage the series finale against Georgia Tech, winning 17-4.

The first two games of the series didn’t go the Irish’s way, losing on Friday 7-4 and then on Saturday 15-2. By avoiding the sweep on Sunday, Notre Dame evened their record at 6-6 on the year, 1-2 in ACC play.

The Irish scored early and often on getaway day, plating double-digits runs in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 7th and 8th inning. Multiple players had more than one hit with Jack Penney leading the way with three hits and 5 RBI. Brooke Coetzee scored four runs while TJ Williams came across three times.

Notre Dame has a quick turnaround as they have a two-game set against Saint Joseph in North Carolina starting Tuesday afternoon. The series concludes on Wednesday then they stay inside the state as they face off against Wake Forest over the weekend.
