THE FLATS –  Georgia Tech softball (14-9, 2-1 ACC) will follow up its first ACC series win of the season with a home midweek tilt against Georgia Southern (10-11, 0-0 SBC) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Mewborn Field.

  • Georgia Tech comes into the contest on the heels of its first conference series win, claiming two of three over Virginia through the weekend to clinch the series on the road.
  • On Saturday, senior right hander Blake Neleman took sole possession of second all-time in career strikeouts with 491 to date.
  • The Yellow Jackets downed the Cavaliers by a final of 5-2 in both of the first two games before dropping the finale.
  • Tech’s conference series win marked its first to open ACC play since 2020.
  • The White and Gold have now won 12 of the last 14 matchups against Virginia, claiming seven consecutive contests over the Hoos entering the series finale.
  • Georgia Tech moved up to a six-game winning streak before the final game of the series.

  • The Yellow Jackets have also been aggressive as a unit on the base path, ranking fourth in the conference and 29th in the nation in triples per game (.35).
  • On top of marching through Tech’s record books in strikeouts, Neleman has picked up a pair of saves this season, moving up to six in her career as she’s now in an eight-way tie for third in program history in career saves.
