Florida baseball scored a weekend sweep over the visiting Siena Saints to wrap up a perfect week of play after taking two from the visiting Florida Atlantic Owls in a midweek series at Condron Family Ballpark. Now winners of six games in a row dating back to the previous weekend’s series against the Miami Hurricanes, the Gators got a boost in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.
The Orange and Blue began the week at No. 6 — a spot it held for two consecutive weeks after dropping from No. 5 in the Week 2 update — and thanks to its recent run is now at No. 4, holding a 15-3 record overall and 629 points in the poll.
The Gators are joined by fellow Southeastern Conference schools LSU (No. 1), Tennessee (No. 2), Ole Miss (No. 3), Arkansas (No. 6), Vanderbilt (No. 8), South Carolina (No. 14), Texas A&M (No. 15) and Alabama (No. 22) in the top 25. Auburn (45), Kentucky (13) and Georgia (6) also received votes.
