Milloy, Pickens Earn SEC Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The conference office announced Tuesday that senior Kiki Milloy and freshman Karlyn Pickens have been tabbed SEC Player of the Week and SEC Freshman of the Week.

For Milloy, it is her first weekly honor this season and the first time she has won conference player of the week since April 20, 2021. Pickens has now earned freshman of the week honors three weeks in a row and is the first Lady Vol to win the recognition three times in a season.

It was another multi-home run weekend for Milloy who hit .625 over four games with a 1.750 slugging percentage and a .786 on-base percentage. The outfielder stole three bags on the week to go along with eight runs scored and eight RBIs.

The Woodenville, Washington, native finished the week with three homers – hitting two in the series opener against Ole Miss. Her first home run versus the Rebels was a grand slam – the third of her career.

Pickens starred in the first SEC start of her career, tossing a one-hit complete-game shutout to help Tennessee earn the series sweep over Ole Miss. The Weaverville, North Carolina, native stuck out eight Rebel batters in the victory. In all four of her starts this season, Pickens has thrown a complete-game shutout.

The Lady Vols are on the road March 15-26, playing Austin Peay in Columbia, Tennessee, for the Mid-State Classic on Wednesday, March 15. UT then heads to Baton Rouge for a three-game set at LSU March 17-19.
