DURHAM – No. 15 Duke softball heads to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina in its first conference road series of the year.
First pitch of game one is set for 1 p.m. on Friday.
The Blue Devils (21-5, 4-2 ACC) are coming off a 5-0 shutout win over James Madison on Wednesday. The win over the Dukes marked the eighth shutout win of the year.
North Carolina enters the weekend with a 10-16 record after splitting two midweek road contests to Coastal Carolina and UNCW. The Tar Heels defeated the Chanticleers, 8-6, on Tuesday before falling to the Seahawks, 6-1, the following day.

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Blue Devils tied the all-time series up at 5-5 after a four-game sweep of the Tar Heels at Duke Softball Stadium in 2021. Duke garnered its fourth ACC sweep of the 2021 campaign and the first in program history against North Carolina.
LAST TIME OUT
No. 15 Duke softball registered four of its five runs via the long ball on Wednesday night to shut out James Madison (13-6), 5-0, at Duke Softball Stadium.
Senior Gisele Tapia led the way going 2-for-3, including a solo home run to score the Blue Devils’ final run of the contest.
Junior Claire Davidson earned the win and moved to 4-2 on the year in the circle. The Lakewood Ranch, Fla., native came in for relief of starter Jala Wright and pitched 2.0 innings, allowing only one hit in 24 pitches.

The Blue Devils host Liberty in a non-conference matchup at Duke Softball Stadium on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
