Klochack Secures 6-2 Win vs. St. Thomas

OXFORD, Miss. – Purdue grabbed a 6-2 win over St. Thomas, advancing the Boilermakers to 14-10 on the season and dropping the Tommies’ record to 6-16.
 
Sophomore starting pitcher Kendall Klochack recorded a career-high six strikeouts while picking up her first win of the season in her six innings. Meanwhile, Mo Wimpee finished the game with the final inning in the circle, earning one strikeout.
 
Purdue registered nine hits with three from Jade Moy, two from Tyrina Jones and Olivia McFadden, and one from Kiara Dillon and Jordyn Ramos. McFadden and Ramos both recorded two RBI in the effort. Ramos and Jones both contributed two runs each while the remaining two came from Kyndall Bailey and Dillon. Purdue finished the game with no errors while St. Thomas committed five.
 
Purdue broke the dead-lock in the bottom of the third with a run earned by Dillon off Ramos’s RBI. Ramos and Jones both contributed a run to close the inning with a  3-0 Purdue lead. The Boilermakers added another three runs to the score at the bottom of the fourth from Jones, Ramos, and Bailey. Then, St. Thomas earned two runs in the sixth inning in an effort to come back, but the Boilermakers secured the win by holding their four-run lead.
 
Purdue will face the host team, Ole Miss, tonight at 7 p.m. ET before closing the weekend against Ole Miss tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. ET.  Both games will be streamed on SEC Network +.
