Purdue Shut Out at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. – Purdue fell in a five-inning run-rule to Ole Miss, 0-8, dropping the Boilermakers record to 14-11 in the effort.

Purdue registered one hit in the fifth inning by Kiersen George which advanced the Boilermakers to their best scoring chance that night. Unfortunately, the runners were left on base. On the night, the Boilermakers and Rebels each left four runners stranded.

Alex Echazarreta is tagged the loss bringing her record to 5-7. Madi Elish is credited with four strikeouts in her 4.2 innings pitched before Mo Wimpee closed out the game.

Ole Miss collected an early lead with a two-run home run in the first inning followed by two additional runs to create a four-run deficit. In the second inning, the Rebels found another run while the Boilermakers remained scoreless. Despite a good fight, the Rebels secured three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to close the game with a run rule.

Purdue will close the Rebel Invitational tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. ET against Ole Miss. The game will be streamed on SEC Network +.
