Bulldogs Drop Game Two against Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Mississippi State baseball team looked to bounce back on Saturday afternoon against Kentucky; however, the Diamond Dawgs came up short and fell by a score of 12-3. 
 
Hunter Hines continued to swing the bat well in Saturday’s contest. He finished 3-for-4 on the day, with a pair of home runs and a double and drove in three total runs.
 
Landon Gartman picked up seven of the first nine outs in the game via the strikeout. 
 
The Bulldogs and Wildcats are back for game three of the series tomorrow, with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. The game is set to be broadcast on the SEC Network.

Hunter Hines led off the second with a solo home run to center field.

Hines drove a two-run shot to right to extend the Diamond Dawgs lead.

Hunter Gilliam tied the game up with a three-run homer to center.

Bottom Fifth
Jase Felker singled up the middle with bases loaded to score two. Emilien Pitre also singled up the middle to push two more runs across. Burkes crossed the plate on a passed ball.

Bottom Sixth
With a runner on, Devin Burkes singled to center, then scored on a three-base fielding error.

Bottom Seventh
James McCoy hit a two-run homer to center.
