Notre Dame baseball finishes their weekend tilt against WF with a win

It wasn’t the best second ACC series for Notre Dame baseball but it wasn’t all lost. The Irish battled host Demon Deacons, getting a 3-1 win on getaway day, salving was could have been a very bad weekend.

Notre Dame lost the first two games of the series to Wake Forest, but didn’t let the previous two make a difference in the series finale. The Irish scored two runs early and a third one later as the pitchers held off the Deacons bats.

Brooks Coetzee had two big RBI hits and Carter Putz had the other. Notre Dame pitchers jack findlay and Blake Hely led the staff through seven innings, not allowing a run. The Deacons would score one but the Irish got the victory, 3-1.

The win keeps the Irish over .500 at 9-8, with a 2-4 record in ACC play. They will finally play in front of their home fans at Frank Eck Stadium on Tuesday as they are set to host Valparaiso with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EST.
