Forest City, Iowa – For the second weekend series in a row the Presentation College Saints are the home team on the road again. This weekend the Saints took on Warriors of Waldorf University in Forest City, IA. The Saints dropped the first game of the doubleheader by a score of Saints 0 Warriors 10 in eight innings. The second game went in favor of the Warriors. The final score in seven innings was Saints 0 Warriors 15. The Saints are now 0-20 on the season and 0-6 in the NSAA.
Game #1
The Warriors got on the board first to lead of the game with single run and left the bases loaded in the top of the first inning. The Saints went down in order to end the first inning. The Warriors added three more runs in the second inning. For the second straight inning the Saints went down in order to end the second. The Saints got the Warriors to go down in order in the top of the third inning. For the third straight inning the Saints went three up three down.
In the fourth inning the Warriors got a two out two run homerun to take a six to zero lead. In the fourth inning the Saints got their first base runner in the form of a walk by Ethan Leech (SR/Casper, WY). In the fifth inning the Saints held the Warriors off of the scoreboard. In the fifth inning the Saints got their first hit with a single by Dawson Barson (JR/Logan, UT). The Warriors put up an unearned run in the sixth inning. In the Saint half of the sixth inning Trevor Ball (JR/Erie, CO) singled to leftfield. Cobi Woodfin (FR/Christoval, TX) reached on a fielder’s choice. Ethan Leech singled to advance Woodfin to second. The Saints could not manufacture a run in the sixth inning.
Phillip Jourdan (JR/Papillion, NE) came in to pitch for the Saints in the seventh inning and held the Warriors to one hit. Evyn Booth (JR/Phoenix, AZ) singled to start the seventh inning for the Saints. Booth advanced to second on a wild pitch. Matthew Womack (SR/Houston, TX) flied out to advance Booth to third base. Unfortunately for the Saints that was all the further Booth would make it. After seven innings the score was Saints 0 Warriors 7. In the eighth inning the Warriors added another three runs. The Saints were not able to get a hit in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The game ended after 8 innings by a score of Saints 0 Warriors 10
