Tigers take the series against Arkansas with Game 3 win

Mel McDaniel would’ve been proud of this Louisiana Saturday Night as LSU beat Arkansas 14-5 in Game 3 in the second leg of a doubleheader to take the weekend series

Game 3 started out just like Game 2. Arkansas scored two runs in the top of the first inning. This time, they scored both of their runs on bases-loaded walks by Thatcher Hurd.

LSU answered in the bottom of the first when Dylan Crews hit a two-run Crews Missile to center field to tie the game.

Arkansas scored again in the top of the third inning when Cali hit a two-RBI double to give the Razorbacks a 4-2 lead. Once again, LSU answered in the bottom of that inning as Gavin Dugas scored on a Crews RBI single, and Crews scored on a Cade Beloso RBI single to tie the game at 4-4.

LSU got its first lead of the ball game in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jordan Thompson hit a triple and then scored on a fielding error by Arkansas. That error resulted in Brayden Jobert getting on first base. He was quickly brought home when Dugas hit a two-run bomb to left field to give LSU a 7-4 lead.

After a Tre Morgan walk and an error that allowed Crews to reach first base, Tommy Tanks hit a three-run bomb to center to give LSU a 10-4 lead.

In the top of the fifth, Arkansas scored a run on a fielder’s choice with bases loaded to cut the lead to 10-5. LSU got that run back in the bottom of the sixth when Tommy Tanks hit a grand slam to right field to make it 14-5.

Griffin Herring and Garrett Edwards were the unsung heroes on the mound tonight for the Tigers as they LSU through six tough innings. Herring have up a run on two hits, one walk, and two strikeouts. Edwards gave up zero runs on two hits, one…
