April 23, 2023 – California League (CalL) – Fresno Grizzlies News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA – The Fresno Grizzlies (8-6) scuffled to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (8-6) 7-3 Saturday evening from LoanMart Field. The four-run loss was the largest run deficit for Fresno this season.
In the bottom of the third, the Quakes offense brought 11 batters to the plate, scoring six runs with a series of singles and doubles. The Grizzlies managed a run in the fourth thanks to a Cole Stilwell RBI single and added two more runs in the sixth. However, Rancho Cucamonga mustered an insurance run in the eighth to end any Fresno comeback.
Braxton Hyde hurled two and one-third shutout frames for the Grizzlies out of the bullpen. He has not allowed a run over seven-plus innings of work this year. Connor Staine (1-1) took the loss and Darlin Pinales (1-1) enjoyed the win.
