Tigers shut out Southeastern Louisiana on the road

Tigers beat Ole Miss in Game 2 to clinch road series win

LSU entered Tuesday night’s game against Southeastern Louisiana after losing two midweek games in a row, both to in-state opponents. That was not the case this time as the Tigers breezed to a 10-0 win.

LSU struck first in the top of the second inning when Jared Jones scored on a wild pitch and Gavin Dugas hit a two-run homer to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead.

In the top of the fourth, Dugas scored on a fielder’s choice, Dylan Crews scored on a wild pitch, and Hayden Travinski hit a two-RBI single to increase the lead to 7-0.

Dugas scored again in the top of the fifth inning due to a fielding error. That increased the Tigers’ lead to 8-0.

In the top of the seventh inning, Tommy White hit a two-run homer to give LSU a 10-0 lead. All the Tigers had to do was get three outs in the bottom of the inning and they would head home with another run-rule victory.

Gavin Guidry, Blake Money, Micah Bucknam, Will Hellmers, and Sam Dutton combined for the shutout.

With the win, LSU moves to 36-8 overall this season. LSU will travel to the Plains to take on the Auburn Tigers this weekend. The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT Friday night.
