Wildcats Place Five on NFCA All-Region Teams


TUCSON, Ariz. – Five Wildcats were named to the NFCA All-West teams announced on Thursday by the association. Carlie Scupin, Allie Skaggs, Blaise Biringer, Dakota Kennedy and Olivia DiNardo earned second-team All-West honors.
 
The five Wildcats are now eligible for the 2023 NFCA Division I All-America teams, which will be announced on Wednesday, May 31.

Carlie Scupin was named All-West for the third consecutive year. She had a .337 batting average this season while hitting 10 home runs and 10 doubles. Her .745 slugging percentage leads Arizona and her 37 RBI ranks third on the team.
 
Allie Skaggs is earning her second all-region nod. The second-team All-West selection was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and second team All-Pac-12 last week. Skaggs leads the Pac-12 with 64 RBI and leads Arizona with 14 home runs. The second baseman committed zero errors in 168 chances this season, the best fielding percentage by a second baseman in Arizona Softball history.
 
Blaise Biringer is receiving her first All-West selection. Biringer leads Arizona with 61 hits and is second on the team with a .365 batting average. The junior totaled seven doubles to rank fourth on the team and her .428 on-base percentage is fifth on the team.
 
Dakota Kennedy is earning her first all-region selection. Last week, Kennedy was a first team All-Pac-12 and All-Freshman team selection. Kennedy is fourth on the team with a .356 batting average and tied for third on Arizona with 10 home runs. Her .630 slugging percentage ranks second on the team and 12th in the Pac-12. Kennedy led Arizona with nine stolen bases this season.
 
Olivia DiNardo is named second team all-region for the first time in her career. DiNardo was named second team All-Pac-12 and earned a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman team last week. She leads Arizona with a .382 batting average which ranks eighth in Arizona freshman history. DiNardo tallied 60 hits, 10 doubles, and seven home runs during the season.
