Baseball Announces Fall Schedule - Rutgers University Athletics

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers baseball announced its fall schedule on Friday afternoon, which includes home scrimmages against Vanderbilt and Stony Brook along with annual staples in Scout Day, the alumni game and the Scarlet-Black World Series.

All events on RU’s fall schedule will take place at Bainton Field and are open to the public at no cost.

The fall slate gets underway on Friday, Sept. 29 with Scout Day, which will feature an abbreviated intrasquad scrimmage.

Sunday, Oct. 8 is the annual alumni game, which is part of alumni weekend that also features the annual Scarlet Knights Baseball Golf Outing. Registration remains open for the golf outing, which will once again take place at Forsgate Country Club.

The first of two scrimmages with outside competition is set for Saturday, Oct. 21 when Rutgers hosts Vanderbilt. The Scarlet Knights and Commodores have played just twice in regular season competition, with Vanderbilt winning 3-2 in 12 innings in 2003 and the teams playing to a 7-7 tie in 1975, as both contests took place in Nashville.

The following week, RU will welcome Stony Brook for an exhibition on Friday, Oct. 27 at Bainton Field. The Seawolves are making a return trip to New Jersey after the teams scrimmaged on Long Island last fall.

The fall season wraps up with the annual Scarlet-Black Intrasquad World Series, with five games set to take place between Nov. 3 and Nov. 12 at Bainton Field.
