On Tuesday, the Alabama baseball team received some promising news regarding the future of the program. Penn transfer pitcher Carson Ozmer announced his commitment to Alabama. Interestingly enough, Ozmer will finish out his senior season at Penn before making the transition to Alabama.
In three seasons with the Quakers, Ozmer has accumulated a 2-2 record with a 2.09 ERA. Opponents have amassed a .192 batting average against Ozmer over the course of three years.
Ozmer was named an All-Ivy League Honorable Mention following his junior season. In 34 appearances, Ozmer held a 1.83 ERA while striking out 35 batters and allowing just 24 hits.
The addition of Ozmer will be a good addition to help bolster the Crimson Tide coaching staff. The dynamics of the roster are unclear at this time, so it is good to have a proven pitcher on board for the 2025 season.
Super pumped to commit to The University of Alabama for my graduate year, following my senior season at Penn. Thank you to everybody who has supported me, especially my parents, current coaches and teammates. #RollTide pic.twitter.com/9EfTwSvBbN
