Holtorf Walks It Off In Extras


SEATTLERylee Holtorf secured the series sweep for No. 8 Washington with a walk-off home run in the ninth for the 1-0 victory over Oregon State on Saturday afternoon at Husky Softball Stadium.
The Huskies improve to 25-5 and 9-3 in Pac-12 action.
Ruby Meylan got the start in the circle and threw 8.2 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts and no walks allowed. It is her 10th career game with 10 or more strikeouts to move her into solo sixth all-time in program history.
Sidne Peters (5-0) came on in relief to pick up her fifth win of the season and second of the weekend. Peters struck out a batter in her one out recorded.
The Washington defense was able to leave 12 Beavers on base to keep the Huskies in the game.

Holtorf came up big with the first pitch she saw in the ninth to send her fifth home run of the season out to center.

The Huskies will travel to Eugene for a three-game series against Oregon beginning on Friday. All games will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
