When it comes to identifying the college baseball title contenders, the SEC is a good place to start. Teams like the Florida Gators, Arkansas Razorbacks, Tennessee Volunteers, Vanderbilt Commodores, LSU Tigers, and Texas A&M Aggies have established themselves at the top of the pack.
Teams like the Kentucky Wildcats, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, South Carolina, and Alabama have been impressive, but must find consistency to hold on to their rankings.
Other programs like Missouri, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State that have each struggled to find their footing this season.
Nonetheless, the SEC is unpredictable and constantly changing. Therefore, it is way too early to pencil teams in or out of any kind of postseason play.

Missouri did not have much success throughout non-conference play and the beginning of conference play. However, the Tigers have found a way to win five games in a row. Kerrick Jackson’s squad is fresh off of a three-game sweep atop the Florida Gators. Missouri will travel to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend.

After this past weekend’s three-game series against the No. 1-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks, the Rebels have now dropped eight games in a row. Ole Miss began conference play with a series win against South Carolina. Since then, Mike Bianco’s squad has struggled tremendously. Ole Miss will play host to the No. 22 Mississippi State Bulldogs. This will be a big, rivalry series for the Rebels.

The Auburn Tigers have been unable to find a way to sustain success in conference play. Through the first 12 games, the Tigers find themselves at 2-10 in conference play. Butch Thompson’s squad is fresh off of a series loss at the hands of the No. 4-ranked Tennessee Volunteers. Auburn will have an opportunity to get back in the win column in conference play this weekend when they play host to the No. 8-ranked Kentucky Wildcats.
