Somerset Patriots News Release
The Somerset Patriots split their double header with the Altoona Curve on Sunday, winning the first game 5-2 and losing the second game 3-1.
The loss in game two of the double header snapped Somerset’s second three-game losing streak of the week. The Patriots have won six of their last eight games, signaling their best six-game stretch of the season.
The win in game one of the double header ensured Somerset’s first four-win series of the season
RHP Zach Messinger (5.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 K) started the first game of the double header with four hitless innings and earned his first Double-A win.
Dating back to his last start, Messinger had a streak of 9.2 consecutive hitless innings snapped at the beginning of the fifth inning.
Messinger’s first Double-A win came in his seventh start of the season and eighth overall at the Double-A level. The performance marked Messinger’s second start this season with 8+ strikeouts.
Bailey Dees (3.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K) started the second game of the double header and did not factor into a decision.

Peraza hit the second home run of his rehab assignment to give the Patriots a 2-0 lead.
C Agustin Ramirez (3-for-7, 2 RBI, R, HR, 2 2B) hit safely in both ends of the double header with both of his hits going for extra bases.
He was the only Patriots batter to hit safely in both ends of the double header.

Ramirez also went deep second in the Patriots’ first set of back-to-back homers, after Ben Rice on 4/5 vs. RIC.
