Bears Host Washington In Final Regular Season Series

Cal hosts Washington for a three-game series starting Thursday. All three games will be televised on Pac-12 Bay Area.

BERKELEY – The California baseball team wraps up the regular season with a three-game series against Washington, starting Thursday. All three games between the Golden Bears and Huskies will be televised on Pac-12 Bay Area.
Cal (31-18, 14-13 Pac-12) is coming off a 5-3 win over rival Stanford on Monday night. A series win for the Bears will secure a winning record in Pac-12 play for the first time since the 2019 campaign. Saturday will be Senior Day at Stu Gordon Stadium. The Bears will honor its six senior and graduating student-athletes in a pregame ceremony on the field.
Washington (19-25-1, 10-17) is playing at Portland on Tuesday evening before making the trip south to Stu Gordon Stadium. The Huskies are currently sitting ninth in the Pac-12,a game up on rival Washington State for the final spot in next week’s Pac-12 Tournament.


  • The Bears are 4-1 on their current, season-long seven-game homestand. With their win over Stanford on Monday, the Bears took the season series against their rival, winning three of the five games during the regular season. 
  • Seven Cal players are hitting over .300. The Bears are hitting .289 as a team, which is third in the Pac-12. Jarren Advincula is hitting .322, which is tied for 10th in the Pac-12.
  • Monday night marked the 14th comeback win of the season for the Bears. Cal trailed 3-2 before scoring two in the seventh and a run in the eighth to secure the 5-3 win.
  • The Bears have gone 15-4 since going 9-13 from March 1-April 9. During that stretch, Cal has series victories over Washington State, No. 5 Oregon State, USC, and San Jose State.
  • The Bears have climbed up to 67 in the latest RPI rankings, which is fourth best among all Pac-12 teams.

    • Cal is 5-2 against Quad 1 teams; no other team in the conference has as many wins against Quad 1 opponents.
    • The Bears are 12-11 against Quad 1 and Quad 2 teams this season.
