SERIES HISTORY VS. CAL
Cal leads the all-time series with Washington at 56-38 after taking two of three games in last season’s regular season fianle. Oddly, the Huskies have actually had more success against the Golden Bears when playing in Berkeley, winning 20 of 45 matchups, compared to just 17 of 47 meetings in Seattle. Washington will be seeking its first series victory over Cal since 2017, when the Huskies took 2-of-3 games at Husky Ballpark.
THAT’S OFFENSIVE
Few players in the country are on a hot streak comparable to AJ Guerrero. Over the last nine games, the junior slugger has racked up 22 hits with 20 RBIs and 10 runs scored, batting .564 with a .974 slugging percentage.
During Washington’s road series at Arizona State, Guerrero batted .625, posting 13 RBIs. The junior blasted four home runs over the final two games of the series, slugging 1.375 for the weekend. Guerrero’s eight RBIs in Sunday’s series finale were the most by a Husky since Brian Wolfe also drove in eight at USC in 2014.
