Beloit Sky Carp News Release

GRAND CHUTE – The Sky Carp fell for the fifth straight game on Wednesday afternoon, losing to the Timber Rattlers 3-1.

The Carp out-hit the home team six to five, but committed four errors which led to two unearned runs and helped guide the Rattlers to their second straight win in the series.

Emmett Olson pitched a solid game on his 22nd birthday, allowing three runs (only one earned) in 4 2-3 innings of work.

The Carp bullpen was solid as usual, as Tyler Eckberg and Nigel Belgrave combined for 3 1-3 scoreless, hitless innings.

The Sky Carp scored its lone run in the fourth inning, when they took a 1-0 lead on a Johnny Olmstead single that plated Mark Coley. The Rattlers then responded in the bottom of the inning with three runs of their own.

Mark Coley was the offensive standout, as he singled and walked three times in his four plate appearances.

GAME NOTABLES

The Sky Carp’s four errors were a season high.

Olson still hasn’t allowed more than one earned run in a start this season.
