Final SEC baseball seeding ahead of the conference tournament

The SEC baseball regular season has come to a close, and for the top four finishers in the conference, receiving the double-bye in next week’s SEC Tournament was a well-earned accomplishment for added rest ahead of the the road toward the College World Series.

For Texas A&M (44-11, 19-11 SEC), the Aggies finished the regular season with a series win against the always-tough Arkansas Razorbacks, including a 14-4 run-rule victory in Game 3 on Saturday afternoon. However, Arkansas managed to steal Game 2 due to a late home run to win the SEC West regular season title, edging the Aggies by just one game in the division.

Tennessee and Kentucky finished out of the conference on top, tied with 22-8 conference records, and are dangerous teams on track to earn the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament based on next week’s results. The Volunteers are the No. 1 seed in the SEC Tournament after finishing with the best regular season record at 46-10.
