It’s a Red River Showdown for the 2024 national championship as the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns meet up in Oklahoma City for the second time in the last three seasons.
The Sooners survived an offensive onslaught from the Florida Gators as Kelly Maxwell rebounded from allowing three home runs through three innings to hold the Gators to just one hit over the final five innings. That set the stage for Jayda Coleman’s walk-off home run in extra innings to propel the Sooners into the championship series for the fifth straight season.
The Texas Longhorns have won five in a row and are 8-1 since losing to the Sooners in the Big 12 tournament championship game. They haven’t allowed a run in three Women’s College World Series games and beat Stanford ace NiJaree Canady twice.
It’s going to be quite the battle in Oklahoma City between the Red River Rivals, and here’s how to tune into the action, which begins Wednesday night.
