Tracking every LSU baseball transfer portal addition in 2024

Since LSU’s 2024 season came to an end with a Game 7 regional final loss to North Carolina in the Chapel Hill Regional, it’s seen quite a bit of attrition via the transfer portal.

The Tigers have specifically suffered quite a few losses at pitcher, with veterans like Samuel Dutton and Javen Coleman, as well as the top 2023 recruit to reach campus in Cam Johnson.

Per usual, however, coach Jay Johnson has done an admirable job replacing those players, and he already has secured one of the nation’s top transfer hauls yet again. Here’s a rundown of every player who has committed to LSU so far. We’ll update this post as needed.

After making 22 appearances as a true freshman in 2023, Dorsey became the Bulls’ primary closer in 2024. He appeared 26 times, finishing with a 2-1 record and 3.60 ERA while recording eight saves, striking out 40 and holding opposing batters to a .180 average.

The Indiana State catcher was one of the top sluggers in the portal as he finished his junior season in 2024 with a .359 batting average with 23 home runs and 76 RBI.

After making 15 appearances with one start as a true freshman, Cowan became Wofford’s ace in 2024. He made 17 starts, finishing with a 10-2 record. He earned a 3.35 ERA and struck out 124 opposing batters while walking just 29.

The 6-foot-5 true freshman made 18 appearances in 2024, finishing with a 6-5 record and 4.76 ERA. He pitched 70 innings, striking out 109 batters while walking 32.

LSU returned to the well in Terre Haute to take Hayden, who went 7-2 in 16 appearances with a 3.81 ERA in 2024. Hayden began his career at Indiana and could be a draft concern for the Tigers, but if he ultimately returns to college, it’s another big-time pickup for LSU.
