SEATTLE – Washington softball head coach Heather Tarr announced the addition of pitcher Stevie Hansen to the roster today.
 
Hansen, a two-time All-Pacific Region selection, makes her way to Montlake after spending the past three seasons at Oregon.
 
Prior to the start of the 2024 season, Hansen was named to the USA Softball Preseason Top 50 Watch List. She finished the season with a 3.52 ERA in 20 appearances while making 11 starts. Hansen ranked fourth in the conference in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.81-to-1). At the Jane Sanders Classic, Hansen had three scoreless appearances where she struck out 12 and earned two wins. She also combined for a no-hitter against Mount St. Mary’s that weekend.
 
As a junior, she ranked fourth in the Pac-12 with a career-high 20 wins and ninth with 110 strikeouts. Hansen posted an 11-game winning streak that dated from Feb. 12-March 4, 2023. During that streak, she posted a 0.75 ERA with 58 strikeouts to seven walks and held opponents to a .162 batting average. Hansen was named D1Softball National Pitcher of the Week after posting wins against No. 3 Florida, No. 19 Northwester, No. 24 Missouri and UC Riverside at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
 
In her career, Hansen has appeared in 94 games while making 60 starts. She holds a 3.02 ERA with an overall record of 36-20 in addition to two saves. Hansen has recorded 281 strikeouts in 326.1 innings of work.
 
Coming out of high school, Hansen was rated as a Top 10 prospect in the Class of 2021 by Extra Inning Softball (No. 6) and Softball America (No. 8). As a senior, she was named the CIF Southern Section Division I Player of the Year after leading the team to a 27-2 record. As a sophomore, Hansen posted a 0.13 ERA with 102 strikeouts to just 15 walks and a perfect 9-0 record.
 
Hansen joins Tia Durst, Alycia Flores and Charity Sevaaetasi, Sophia Ramuno, Rylee Rehbein, Madi Balk, Riley Peschek and Ava Carroll in addition to six incoming freshmen Jade Bubke, Addie Craig, Alexis DeBoer, Sophi Mazzola, Morgan Reimer and Gabi Toney as part of the incoming class.
