The Yankees beat the Kansas City Royals in 4 games, 3-1, to move on to the ALCS. After splitting the games in New York, the Yankees won two straight in Kansas City to be one step closer to the World Series. Hamilton saw action in the fourth and fifth innings of Game 2. He struck out three hitters and only gave up one hit. Hamilton will look to help the Yankees reach their first World Series since 2009.
The Guardians went to five games against the Tigers but came on top in game five, winning 7-3. The Guardians started strong with a win at home then lost the next two and won Game 4, 5-4. Manzardo appeared in games 1-4, getting a single in game 4 to help keep the Guardians alive. He started at the DH position in games 3 and 4 while pinch-hitting in the first two games. This is the Guardians first appearance in the ALCS since 2016.
Manzardo and Hamilton will start the series on Monday, October 14th in New York and look to take their respective teams to the World Series.
