Highlights from Texas A&M baseball 13-1 exhibition win over Houston

Texas A&M’s 2025 baseball season will be here before you know it, as the new regime under first-year head coach Michael Earley officially begins against Arizona in the Astros Family Foundation Classic on February 28th.

After all the chaos of former head coach Jim Schlossnagle abruptly leaving the program for rival Texas just days after the Aggies’ Game 3 loss to Tennessee in the National Championship Series, a new chapter takes shape this coming season. Earley, who served as the Aggie’s hitting coach last season, briefly followed Schlossnagle to Texas before accepting his new position, returning to College Station as one of the youngest head baseball coaches in the country.

Despite his youth, Texas A&M’s 2025 roster is stacked with returning talent, led by star hitter Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovic, while ace pitcher Ryan Prager returns for a final go-around after declining to sign his rookie contract with the Los Angels Angels.

However, former Texas Tech infielder Gavin Kash has continued to look like the real deal this fall, including making several eye-popping hits during Texas A&M’s 13-1 exhibition win against Houston on Friday night in front of a packed Blue Bell Park.

At the same time, the Aggie pitching staff punched out 15 batters, as new pitching coach Jason Kelly is looking like a seamless transition from Max Weiner. Here are the various highlights from the game thanks to TexAgs’ Ryan Brauninger.
