Fall World Series Starts On Friday

BERKELEY – The California baseball team’s annual Fall World Series begins today and runs through Nov. 15. All games are open to the public with free admission. Stu Gordon Stadium on campus will be the location for Games 1 and 3, as well as Games 4 and 5, if necessary. Game 2 will be played at Cleve Borman Field at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville.

Cal is coming off a 36-19 campaign in 2024 when the Golden Bears won 20 of their final 25 games. The team’s .655 winning percentage was its best since the 1966 squad was 32-14 (.696). The Bears reached the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament and narrowly missed a spot in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship.

Returnees on Cal’s 2025 roster include first-team All-Pac-12 infielders Jarren Advincula and PJ Moutzouridis, as well as 2024 Pac-12 honorable mention outfielder Seth Gwynn. Advincula led the Bears with a .325 batting average last season and was the Cape Cod League batting champion this past summer with a .392 mark. Moutzouridis (.299, 6 HR, 42 RBI) and Gwynn (.311, 7 HR, 29 RBI) both had strong campaigns at the plate for Cal in 2024.

The 2025 season will begin in February with the full schedule for the Bears’ first year in the Atlantic Coast Conference to be announced at a later date.
