Meet the Gators: McCall Biemiller

The lefty hurler went 8-1 with a 2.29 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 55 frames to lead Tampa Jesuit to a state title last season.

Conducting his warm-up tosses and entering the spotlight for the 2024 Meet the Gators series is rookie southpaw McCall Biemiller out of Tampa, Fla. The Tampa Jesuit High School product will be found pitching in No. 33 this spring.

Having already debuted in orange & Blue this fall, Biemiller appeared in both exhibitions against Jacksonville and USF. In game two against the Dolphins on Nov. 1, he fired a perfect frame highlighted by a pair of strikeouts.

Earning three letters under Head Coach Miguel Menendez at Tampa Jesuit, Biemiller totaled 86 2/3 innings across 27 games (13 starts). The left-hander finished with impressive marks across the board, posting a 3.07 ERA, .156 batting average against and 11.9 strikeouts per nine for his career.

Biemiller improved his ERA by more than 1.00 in each season from his sophomore to senior campaigns. After delivering a 3-0 record with a 3.32 ERA as a junior, the Tampa native was nearly untouchable as a senior going 8-1 backed by a 2.29 ERA and 104 strikeouts and 25 walks in 55 innings. Tampa Jesuit finished the season 26-6 and won the state title as a result, thanks to 4 1/3 innings of one-run ball from Biemiller in the clincher.

Across Biemiller’s three varsity seasons, Tampa Jesuit went a combined 77-19. The Tigers won the state championship in two of those seasons (2022, 2024).

Also suiting up for 5 Star and Top Tier Roos during his prep days, Biemiller collected 13 all-tournament team nods at various Perfect Game events from 2018-24. He was tabbed PG Preseason Second Team All-Region for three-straight years from 2022-24.

Entering college, Biemiller ranked as the No. 405 overall player in the class, including the No. 61 recruit and No. 5 left-handed pitcher in Florida.
