Summerhill Pulls In First Team Preseason All-America Recognition


TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Baseball outfielder Brendan Summerhill has been selected by Baseball America as a First Team Preseason All-American, the outlet announced this morning.

Summerhill was previously tabbed as a Third Team Preseason All-American by Perfect Game and also earned a selection to the Preseason All-Big 12 team.

The Chicago native posted a breakout sophomore campaign in 2024 en route to earning spots on both the Pac-12 All-Conference and All-Tournament teams; he paced the team with a .324 batting average and a .399 on-base percentage last year while scoring 50 runs, collecting 77 hits, slugging 37 extra-base hits, and driving in 65 RBI. Across 80 games in two years with the Wildcats, the toolsy outfielder has posted a .311 career batting average with 62 runs, 21 doubles, six triples, 10 home runs, 65 RBI, and nine stolen bases.

Summerhill and the Wildcats kick off their 2025 campaign on Friday, Feb. 14 at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington, Texas where they will take on Ole Miss, No. 15 Clemson, and Louisville. The club’s home opener at Hi Corbett Field is set for Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 2:00 p.m. MST against New Mexico.

Before official action begins on the 14th, the Wildcats will host their annual Meet the Team event at Hi Corbett Field. The festivities begin at 2:00 p.m. MST with a scrimmage, followed by a full-team autograph session available to all fans in attendance.
