The Boilermakers closed the Coach B Classic in Carbondale Ill. with wins over Central Arkansas and Purdue Fort Wayne, but fell in a pair of extra-inning losses to host team, Southern Illinois.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Saint Louis University currently holds a 7-8 record, coming off a 2-3 record at the Kennesaw State Tournament. The Billikens tallied wins against Rider University (twice) and fell to St. John’s, East Tennessee State, and Kennesaw State. The Billikens will head to Champagne, Ill. Mar. 7 to take on the Fighting Illini in a lone game before making their way down to West Lafayette to face the Boilermakers. Returning players include junior, Abby Mallo, who ranks fifth in Saint Louis’ career slugging average, and Taylor Hochman, a senior pitcher ranked fifth in the A-10 for ERA.
The Braves have competed in four tournaments to start the season with a 7-12 record. Wins against Saint Francis University, Eastern Illinois, and University of Toledo at the FIU Classic, garnered momentum for Bradley as it heads to West Lafayette for the Boilermaker Classic. Bradley will play both teams twice in the tournament. Returning key players for the Braves include Kierston McCoy, a junior utility player and pitcher who leads the team with three home runs and 10 RBI. Another returner is Sydney Kennedy, a senior pitcher who leads the team in ERA at 2.50.
SERIES HISTORY
In the all-time series history against the Billikens, Purdue leads 3-0. The teams have not faced one another in over 15 years, with the latest match up being back in 2010, where the Boilermakers took the 12-11 victory. The first meeting between the two teams was in 1994, where Purdue shutout the Billikens 9-0. Saint Louis has not defeated Purdue in its history, and looks to challenge the Boilermakers…
