Utah Softball Defeated by Arizona, 8-0

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Utah softball team was defeated 8-0 by the No. 11 Arizona Wildcats on Friday in Big 12 Conference action at Hillenbrand Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.

The Utes are 8-20 in 2025.

Utah’s day started with a scoreless first that was keyed by their conference-best 21st double play of the season, but Arizona’s offense moved in front in the second with a three-run outburst.

In the third, the Wildcats used a pair of two-run homers to extend their lead to 7-0 and they pushed that advantage to 8-0 in the fourth.

On offense, the Utes put runners in scoring position in the second and fourth innings and used a walk and a hit batter to mount another threat in the fifth. That brought up Emily Capobianco with two outs and she ripped a 1-0 pitch into left, only for Arizona’s Dakota Kennedy to run it down for the game’s final out.
