CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois softball travels to #8/8 Oregon for a Big Ten series this weekend. Friday’s game is slated for 8 p.m.CT while Saturday’s game is scheduled or 6 p.m.CT. Sunday’s finale, which will not count towards conference records, is set for 2 p.m. CT. Fans can catch every game on B1G+.

Super Stevie

Stevie Meade has been a mainstay in the Illinois lineup since she first joined the Orange and Blue. Meade owns the single-season record for most sacrifice hits with 13 in 2022. The senior is one sac bunt away from becoming the program’s outright all-time leader in the category as she currently owns 30.

Three’s Company

The Fighting Illini have five different players who have recorded a triple this season. Stevie Meade, Ava Moore, Zoie Howard, Alaina Miller and Yazzy Avila all posted a three bagger this year. Moore, Howard and Miller own a squad-best two triples. 

With eight triples this season, the Fighting Illini squad is already tied for 11th most all-time in program history, just 19 games into the campaign. Eight of the team’s 19 games have included a triple.

The Illini enter the week second in the conference with eight triples this season and 0.32 triples per game.

In Paige We Trust

Paige Berkmeyer has been solid behind the dish during her time with the Illini. The catcher has 38 runners caught stealing during her time at Illinois, with the mark ranking third in the program record book.

Going Wiles

Lauren Wiles has made a name for herself in the circle during her four-year career donning the orange and blue. The senior ranked seventh with 105 appearances and eighth with 64 starts in the Fighting Illini softball record book.
