RANKINGS
Tennessee is ranked in all four major polls heading into the weekend: No. 4 (NFCA), No. 2 (USASB), No. 4 (D1S) and No. 6 (SA).
AGAINST THE TIGERS
The Lady Vols will see some familiar faces this weekend as former assistant coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux, now co-head coaches at Auburn, bring their Tiger squad to Knoxville. Tennessee has controlled the series of late, winning eight of the last 10 meetings. UT swept Auburn in the last series matchup in Knoxville in 2022.
NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT
Tennessee junior Karlyn Pickens continues to dominate the national spotlight, earning her third consecutive National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Pitcher of the Week award. She was also named SEC Pitcher of the Week for the third week in a row.
With her latest NFCA honor, Pickens makes history as the first student-athlete to win either NFCA Player or Pitcher of the Week three consecutive times.
The hard-throwing righty holds a 17-4 record with an ERA of 0.94 that ranks No. 3 nationally and leads the conference. Pickens also ranks ninth in Division I and first in the league with 173 strikeouts. Her K/7 mark is 12th in the nation and fifth in the SEC at 9.5.
